Eight sessions, three tracks, and every one of them runs twice, at 2.00 pm and again at 4.15 pm. Choose one in each round, so two in total, and you won’t have to give up a session you wanted. If your parish team is coming together, split up and cover four between you.
Forming and Casting a Vision
Is having a vision really that important? Vision statements are often cheesy, rarely move people to action, and get heard once then forgotten. But whether it’s for your personal life, your ministry or your parish, dreaming a vision of the future that inspires hope and passion is crucial. Matt Regitz shows why vision is one of a leader’s most important responsibilities, and how to craft one that does more than sit on a wall: discerned in prayer, refined in community, and cast in a way that genuinely moves your parish toward mission.
Who it’s for: parish priests, ministry leaders and pastoral council or leadership team members who are passionate about renewal but can’t yet put words to where it’s heading.

Teams Aren’t Found, They’re Formed
No priest, however gifted, can carry a parish’s mission alone — and no single volunteer has every gift the mission needs. Debbie Riddell makes the case that the way forward isn’t finding better people, it’s building the team you already have.
Who it’s for: parish priests, Senior Leadership Team and Parish Pastoral Council members, and any ministry leader still relying on a small group of tired volunteers rather than a functioning team.

Starting Alpha Well in Your Parish
Alpha has helped thousands of parishes move from maintenance to mission by creating a space where the unchurched can encounter Jesus and find belonging. Donna Brennan and Vanessa Comninos cover the foundations for doing it well — the right culture, the right team, and a welcome people actually want to come back for.
Who it’s for: parish leaders, ministry teams, and anyone curious about or recently running Alpha as part of their evangelisation strategy.

Sharing Your Faith in the Ordinary Moments
Most of us long for the people we love to know the joy of faith. But when it comes to speaking about it, we don’t know where to start. You don’t need to be a theologian. In this breakout Judy Bowe MGL gives you simple principles and practical tips to share your experience of Christ naturally and confidently with the people closest to you.
Who it’s for: Anyone who longs to share their faith with family, friends, or those they encounter in daily life, but is not sure where to start.
Speaker: Judy Bowe MGL has been a Missionary of God’s Love Sister for 35 years and lives at Carmel House retreat centre, Varroville. She has studied education, theology, spirituality, counselling and leadership. Her everyday work as an MGL is about finding ways to connect people with God’s love, so evangelisation is her main focus. When she’s not doing that, you’ll find her ocean swimming or at the pottery wheel.
What you’ll walk away with: A simple framework for sharing your faith naturally in everyday conversations, practical tips to speak about your faith with confidence and love, and how to witness to those closest to you without fear or pressure.
Running a Great SLT Meeting
Most parish leadership teams meet regularly, but not every meeting moves the mission forward. Fr Josh Whitehead and the team at Our Lady of the Rosary, Caloundra, pull back the curtain on exactly what a great SLT meeting looks like — not theory, but a real team running a real meeting in front of you.
Who it’s for: parish priests and leadership teams who sense their meetings could be doing more, and want the team meeting to be the engine that drives the mission rather than just manages the week.

Multiply Your Evangelisation Impact
Byron and Francine Pirola make the case that marriage is not a pastoral problem to be managed — it is a multiplier of your evangelisation efforts. A couple who love each other visibly and sacrificially are living apologetics. They make God’s love believable in a concrete way, and set the next generation up for sustained faith practice.
You’ll hear how a small investment in relationship formation can dramatically reduce marriage breakdown, and how investing in marriage drives church attendance and parish vitality. Healthy marriages and families are a resource for your mission, and this session gives you the tools and the support to renew the couples in your parish and equip them to be part of it.
Who it’s for: priests, parish leaders, and anyone involved in marriage preparation or family ministry who wants couples to encounter the living God, not just receive a sacrament.
Speakers: Francine & Byron Pirola, co-founders of the SmartLoving Marriage Ministry and the Marriage Resource Centre. Married since 1988 with five children and a growing number of grandchildren, they’ve spent decades equipping couples and parishes to live the sacrament of marriage well.
What you’ll walk away with: a fresh vision for marriage preparation as an evangelisation pathway, practical tools for creating a culture of welcome for couples, and concrete ideas for keeping couples connected to the Church after the wedding day.
Music with Purpose
Music has the power to open hearts, draw people into prayer, and help us encounter God through worship. This session looks at the role of music ministry both inside and outside the liturgy, and at how music can serve the worship of the Church while helping people open their hearts to Christ.
Who it’s for: music ministers, choir directors, worship leaders and parish priests who want their music ministry to serve the mission of the parish and draw people into an encounter with God, inside the liturgy and beyond it.
Speaker: Lou Daniels, worship leader, songwriter, wife and mum of four. She leads the worship team at St Declan’s Parish, Penshurst, and regularly leads worship at events around Sydney and Australia, including ACYF 2025. Her heart is to see people encounter Jesus through music and worship.
What you’ll walk away with: a renewed vision and passion for music in the life of the Church, practical tools for prioritising encounter with God through music, and tips for navigating the common challenges of music ministry with charity.
A Framework for Lasting Change
Most parish leaders know the fruit they want — more volunteers, more invitations, stronger discipleship, greater hospitality, a clearer sense of mission. But simply asking people to do more rarely creates lasting change, because culture quietly pulls everyone back to what’s become normal. Peter Gilmore introduces the Results Pyramid, a practical framework for designing parish culture on purpose, showing how experiences shape beliefs, beliefs drive actions, and actions produce results.

Equipping Leaders for Mission
Most parish leaders want to invest in their team. But giving someone a task is not the same as forming them. In this session Brett Powell draws on years of experience accompanying priests and leaders to show what genuine leadership formation looks like, and how to build a culture where leaders are not just filling roles but truly shaped for mission.
Who it’s for: This workshop is for anyone passionate about leadership or has responsibility for forming leaders.
Speaker: Brett Powell, CEO of Divine Renovation. Before joining Divine Renovation, Brett spent 11 years in senior leadership with the Archdiocese of Vancouver, leading teams across evangelisation, formation, youth and outreach. He has spent years coaching and accompanying priests, bishops and lay leaders across North America, and is passionate about helping the Church rediscover her missionary identity.
What you’ll walk away with: A clear vision of what deep formation looks like in practice, and practical tools to form leaders in character, mission and discipleship.
The Cornerstone of Renewal
Prayer is not an optional extra for renewal — it’s the cornerstone renewal has to be built on. Sr Mary Immanuel shares on the power of prayer, practical ways to embed a culture of prayer in your parish, and how to lean into the Holy Spirit so God does the renewing, rather than relying on our own strength.
Who it’s for: priests, parish leaders, catechists, and everyone involved in any type of ministry within the parish.
Speaker: Sr Mary Immanuel, Sister of the Immaculata — a new and growing Catholic community dedicated to parish renewal through Eucharistic Adoration, prayer and faith formation. She professed her perpetual vows in 2018 and currently serves in the parish of St Catherine Labouré, Gymea.
What you’ll walk away with: a fresh understanding of what prayer can do for renewal, practical ways to embed intentional prayer into every part of parish life and ministry, and concrete ways of getting out of the way so God can do the work.
From a Program to a Culture
Your parish has been running Alpha for a while, but it’s not getting the results you’ve heard others are getting — or it’s starting to lose momentum. Team members are getting harder to recruit, guest numbers aren’t growing (maybe even dropping), and people are asking “why do we still do Alpha?” If any of that sounds familiar, this session is for you. Cathy Kennedy and Justine Hughes help you pinpoint the levers you can pull to reignite your Alpha, and how to keep using it to drive your parish’s mission.
Who it’s for: parish priests, Alpha team leaders, and volunteers who are running (or have run) Alpha and are wondering where to take it from here.
Speakers: Cathy Kennedy, Evangelisation Coordinator at St Declan’s & St Joseph’s, Sydney, where she’s coordinated more than 20 Alpha series over seven and a half years and hosted 800+ guests, and formerly directed the Archdiocese of Sydney’s Evangelisation Office. Justine Hughes, Catholic Networks Specialist at Alpha Australia, with over fifteen years across national, diocesan, school and not-for-profit ministry roles.
What you’ll walk away with: ways to reignite a stalling Alpha, the key pillars that make it a vital engine for mission, a framework for boosting your Alpha leadership pipeline, and fresh approaches for promoting it and discerning next steps for guests.
Youth Evangelisation
The rising generations are not the future of the Church. They are the Church now. Huw Warmenhoven draws on his experience to explore what genuine youth evangelisation looks like in practice — what works, what doesn’t, how ordinary parishes can make a real difference in the lives of young people, and how young people can become the catalyst for renewal in the whole parish. We are living in a unique moment, in the words of Pope Francis a change of era rather than an era of change, and this session is about how the Church responds to it with courage and conviction.
Who it’s for: priests, parish leaders, youth ministers, catechists, and anyone who longs to see young people not just show up but step into the life and mission of the Church.
Speaker: Huw Warmenhoven, Associate Director for Alpha in a Catholic Context at Alpha International. Extensive experience leading evangelisation initiatives across Australia, Oceania, Asia, Africa and Europe, particularly in his own Archdiocese of Canberra & Goulburn, with qualifications in law, theology and international studies.
What you’ll walk away with: an understanding of the cultural and spiritual realities shaping young people today, contemporary research on the questions they’re asking about faith, life and meaning, practical first steps your parish can take to engage the rising generations, and models of renewal built on engaging youth and young adults.
The Rekindle Project
Parish renewal isn’t complete without room for the supernatural. It is vital that we make space for God to move through the Holy Spirit and through ordinary, baptised Catholics. This session is a dynamic introduction to awakening the gifts of the Holy Spirit through prayer, and rather than a dry lecture it offers a practical, grounded immersion into creating a parish culture of expectancy. Leanne and Beth share lived testimony, personal experience and a hands-on activation workshop.
Who it’s for: parish priests and lay leaders who want to build a thriving culture of prayer, activate the spiritual gifts of the laity, and welcome the power of the Holy Spirit into everyday parish life.
Speakers: Leanne Buckley, founder of The Rekindle Project and a member of the Parish Leadership Team at St John the Evangelist, Campbelltown. A graduate of the Encounter School of Ministry, a corporate leadership consultant, leadership and management teacher and certified coach, she blends real-world leadership with lived faith to help regular parishioners step out of the pews and discover their God-given purpose. Beth Davies, Mission Coordinator at Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Caloundra, overseeing Alpha, RCIA and faith formation. Formed through the Encounter School of Ministry, with over ten years in youth ministry and leadership.
What you’ll walk away with: an inspiring overview of what is possible when regular parishioners activate the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Grounded in Church teaching, the session uses real-life testimonies and a brief, gentle activation to give you a taste of how everyday Catholics are stepping out in healing, prophecy and intercession, leaving you with a vision for what could happen in your own parish.
Creating a Discipleship Pathway
A programme is something people complete. A pathway is something people walk. Most parishes have programmes but lack a clear pathway — and that’s where disciples are often lost. Drawing on the journey of St Declan’s, Penshurst, Fr Chris Ryan shows how to build an intentional discipleship pathway that connects everything your parish does into one coherent journey of formation.
Who it’s for: priests and parish leadership teams already running programmes who want to connect them into something greater — anyone who’s wondered what comes after RCIA, or why people disappear after the sacraments.

A leading voice in Australian parish renewal for over 30 years, co-author of Preaching on Purpose and co-editor of Australian Catholic Youth Ministry, with a PhD on RCIA as a resource for youth ministry theology and practice.

Thriving with Lean Resources
Think you need more people, more money, or more programmes to renew your parish? Think again. Most small parishes look at what they lack and stop there. But the Gospel has never been about size — a mustard seed, five loaves and two fish, twelve disciples. Fr Greg Bellamy makes the case that God consistently works through what is small, faithful and willing.
Who it’s for: priests and parish leaders from small or under-resourced parishes who feel like renewal is out of reach because of limited people, funds, or capacity.

From Interior Life to Parish Mission
Parish renewal begins in hearts transformed by Christ. An interior life rooted in the Eucharist forms leaders who discern, serve and lead with courage, humility and missionary conviction, and who can help renew the life and mission of their parish. Through shared story and witness you’ll explore what that looks like in practice, with prayer, Scripture, teaching, reflection and discussion along the way. The session also unpacks how to prepare and lead a Eucharistic lesson in your own setting, so you leave with the confidence, the competence and a concrete resource you can use back home.
Who it’s for: priests, parish leaders, catechists, and everyone involved in parish life.
Speaker: Ben Galea, COO of the International Eucharistic Congress 2028, leading the operational vision that will bring thousands into a deeper encounter with Christ in the Eucharist. With experience in large-scale Catholic events and parish renewal, Ben combines strategic clarity with a heart for mission.
What you’ll walk away with: hands-on experience of a complete Parish Companion lesson, a repeatable model for leading it in your own parish, a Parish Companion Guide for engaging with the Eucharist28 catechesis resources, the confidence and competence to connect Eucharistic formation with interior life and parish leadership, and a concrete next step for Eucharistic renewal where you are.
Across the summit, participants will enter a rhythm of keynote teaching, practical workshops, Holy Mass, Eucharistic adoration, and shared learning with parish leaders from around the world.
The summit begins with a dedicated clergy day for bishops, priests and deacons on Thursday, 1 October.
Led by Fr James Mallon, Brett Powell and Matt Regitz of Divine Renovation, this opening day offers space for formation, prayer, and honest conversation about the realities and opportunities of parish renewal. Clergy will gather for teaching, discussion, shared meals, and prayer before the wider summit begins.
